A Brisbane man who died after jumping from a bridge in Queensland has been described as a “beautiful soul” with the “purest energy”.

British-born Joshua Santos Christian died in the early hours of Sunday morning when he jumped off Noosa Sound Bridge and failed to resurface.

His friends say he passed away “happy and loving life and always living up to his mottos”.

One of his motto’s being: “Here for a good time not a long time”.

It is understood Mr Christian, aged in his 30s, slipped as he stepped over the bridge’s railing and hit his head on descent.

He was among a group of people jumping from the popular tourist attraction.

Mr Christians body was recovered by police divers about 6am on Sunday after a local boat operator used sonar equipment to help find his body.

His devastated family are now trying to raise funds to repatriate his body from Brisbane to his former home in Wirral, England.

A touching tribute posted to a GoFund Me page said Mr Christian made “everyone feel held and safe in his presence”.

“Everyone deserves a Josh in their lives, he was a very special person and touched so many people,” the tribute read.

“Josh lived for his friends and beautiful family. He loved finding the joy and passion in everything, he completely embodied music and dancing, both were in his blood, he danced first and thought later.”

The page has so far raised almost $30,000.

Mr Christian’s loved ones said every donation would help reunite him with his family.

“The whole process is very expensive so every donation, no matter the size, will help in reuniting him with his loved ones at home as soon as possible,” they said.

“Your contribution will directly alleviate the financial burden faced by his family as they navigate this challenging and complex time.

Your generosity will bring comfort to his family and loved ones. “Together we can bring him home.”

His funeral will be held at Landican Crematorium in Wirral.
