Japan’s ski season usually runs from mid-December to early April.

The best powder snow conditions are often in January and February.

And now is a good time to think about finding and booking an apartment, while there is availability and choice.

A good example is an apartment-style suite in Niseko with daily ski shuttle, for five nights from $2949.

Luxury Escapes’ deal for this comes with a ¥10,000 ($90) dining credit, and one child stays free.

The luxury Chatrium Niseko Japan is in the heart of Hirafu Village, with a complimentary shuttle to the Grand Hirafu ski lifts.

And they take skiiers and snowboarders to Hokkaido’s brilliant slopes.
