Another medal secured
Louise Hoskins and Serena Bonell made light work of Scotland in their Para bowls semifinal bout, sweeping aside Scotland 6-4, 5-1.
They will face New Zealand in the decider tomorrow as will our Para men’s.

Marschall sets a new Games record
Having already secured gold, Marschall breaks Steve Hooker’s long-standing record by clearing 5.85m on his second attempt.
What a night for Australian athletics.
GOLD for Marschall
He is a three-time champion with four perfect jumps and no one able to clear 5.80.
Utter dominance to make it Australia’s best-ever track and field day at a Commonwealth Games with seven golds!
He’s the first-ever three-time men’s pole vault champion at the Commonwealth Games.
AUSTRALIA SWEEP WOMEN’S MILE
GOLD. Abbey Caldwell
SILVER. Jessica Hull
Bronze. Claudia Hollingsworth.
No country has ever swept the podium in this event but Australia have now!
Caldwell went out along the back straight with Hull following her.
Hollingsworth was nowhere as she looked stuck in the pack but swung out and charged home to claim the bronze.
What a perfect race for the Aussies.
Women’s one mile
Jessica Hull is the favourite, while Abbey Cladwell and Claudia Hollingsworth are also strong chances.
Marschall clears 5.80m
On his first attempt as well, South Africa’s Kyle Rademeyer had one fail at 5.70m while Englands Owen Heard had two before clearing so the Australian is in a good position.
Disaster for the Aussies
They led after the first two changes and were in third at the final change.
But coming into the final, Jemma Pollard seized up and collapsed as she hobbled over the finish line in seventh.
She’s absolutely devastated.
“I think I just gave the first 300 absolutely everything and I had nothing left,” she says.
“I just got crazy lactic.”
To add insult to injury they’ve been disqualified for a lane infringement.
