Steven Zielinski: Former Raunchy Promotions owner’s guns destroyed following domestic violence accusation

Police destroyed guns belonging to a former skimpy barmaid boss under reforms to WA’s firearms laws after he was charged with assaulting his wife, it can be revealed. One-time Raunchy promotions boss Steven Zielinski is facing allegations he assaulted his ex-wife Emily Charman, 34, at a function hosted by a neighbour of his multi-million dollar Mandurah canals home. Mr Zielinski pleaded not guilty to the assault, which is alleged to have happened on Anzac Day, in Mandurah Magistrates Court on Friday. The case will go to trial on January 23. During the same appearance, Mr Zielinski had his bail conditions changed so he can leave WA to holiday in Queensland. The 71-year-old pleaded guilty to failing to adequately storing a firearm during a previous court appearance in May this year. WA Police confirmed Mr Zielinski’s firearms were seized in April and “subsequently destroyed in accordance with the Firearms Act Reform”. These changes allow WA Police to carry out the mandatory seizure of firearms without a warrant when domestic violence is reported against a gun owner. The assault on Ms Charman allegedly occurred at a function hosted by a neighbour, it was revealed in court. Mr Zielinski is the former owner of skimpy barmaid business Raunchy Promotions but now co-owns the business Love and Labels with Ms Charman. Ms Charman has a strict restraining order against the businessman, which prevents Mr Zielinski from contacting Ms Charman or coming within 50m of their shared multimillion-dollar canal home.
