First families move into new Onslow development

Onslow’s Barrarda Estate is beginning to come to life as the first families move into the 220-lot development.

Last month the first five residential Chevron families made the move into the estate.

Chevron has purchased 50 homes in Barrarda, with 15 finished and the remaining 35 expected to be completed early next year.

Chevron community engagement supervisor Erin Glancy was one of the first five to move into the area.

“Our kids love playing in the backyard and have already been taking full advantage of the swimming pool,” she said.

“I'm looking forward to the new Chevron residents becoming active members of the Onslow community.

“The town is continuing to realise benefits from the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project, with these improvements contributing to the overall vibrancy and sustainable development of the town.”

Chevron’s modular homes were constructed in Perth by McGrath Homes and driven up to Onslow.

The State Government has bought 10 sites in Barrarda to add to its Government Regional Office Housing portfolio.

The Shire of Ashburton has bought three lots.
