Child killed in Great Northern Highway crash in Pilbara
A child has been killed in a crash on a remote road in the Pilbara.
The incident happened on Marble Bar Road near the Great Northern Highway east of Newman shortly after 11.45pm last night.
Police say a gold Nissan Patrol four-wheel-drive towing a trailer was travelling south along Great Northern Highway when it left the road and rolled.
A one-year-old child who was a passenger in the vehicle received critical injuries and died a short time later at Newman Hospital.
The 31-year-old female driver and two male passengers, an adult and a child, were not injured.
Major Crash investigators would like to speak to anyone who saw the crash or the Nissan Patrol travelling in the area prior to the crash.
