A 52-year-old man with ties to the Rebels bikie gang has denied attempting to bring 46g of meth to the Pilbara. David Hursey appeared before Karratha Magistrate’s Court last Wednesday via video link from Roebourne Regional Prison, where he pleaded not guilty to possessing a trafficable amount of methylamphetamine and possessing stolen or unlawfully obtained property. Police allege he flew from Karratha to Perth on January 20 before travelling back to Karratha in a Holden ute owned by his co-accused Nikolce Ivanovksi. Karratha detectives stopped the car on January 21, and allegedly discovered a magnetic container with 46g of meth concealed on the car’s undercarriage and $5000 in a cryovac bag inside the ute. Mr Hursey will next appear before the Karratha District Court on August 6. Mr Ivanovski also appeared before the Karratha Magistrate’s Court via audio link, and pleaded not guilty to possessing a trafficable amount of methylamphetamine.
