The Karratha City Shopping Centre put on a special event in which hundreds of community members came together for a day to celebrate NAIDOC Week last Thursday.

Visitors enjoyed live music, traditional face painting, damper, bush tucker and a sausage sizzle.

Retailers and community groups were invited to join the celebrations including IBN, Indijiarts, the Storm softball team and Naanda Enterprises.

The main attraction was the painting of the centre’s new mural.

Community members placed their names and handprints on the wall to make a mural which will be a permanent fixture on the shopping centre’s wall.
