St John WA employee accused of stealing fuel cards worth hundreds from workplace pleads not guilty

A St John WA employee accused of stealing more than $500 of fuel cards from her workplace will fight the charges. Sharon Anne McNeill appeared in Narrogin Magistrates Court on February 3 on two counts of stealing as a servant and one count of gaining benefits by fraud. The 41-year-old was emotional as she pleaded not guilty to all three charges read to her by Magistrate Rosemarie Myers. Police prosecutor Sgt Warrick Walker told the court Ms McNeill allegedly stole a BP gift card worth $20 on March 18 while working with St John WA in Boddington. Sgt Walker alleged she used the stolen BP gift card later that day in Boddington. He said three months later on June 11, Ms McNeill also allegedly stole a fuel card worth $500 while working with St John WA in Williams. Her lawyer Eva Svanberg and Sgt Walker agreed the trial would take a full day. Ms McNeill will next appear to stand trial in Narrogin Magistrates Court on November 30.
