CCTV captures alleged horror moment man, 53, grabbed by masked group and bundled into car in second Sydney kidnapping

Sydney has been rocked by a second kidnapping after police found a “hostage” just days after grandfather Chris Baghsarian’s remains were found. CCTV of the alleged ordeal captures the moment a group of balaclava-clad men grab the man, 53, outside a Meadows Rd tobacco shop in the southwestern Sydney suburb of Mount Pritchard. Police have said the incident unfolded about 6.15am on Tuesday. It is alleged the man was then forced into the back of a Hyundai hatchback, with police swooping on a Dural property in the city’s northwest and finding him two days later at 10.30am on Thursday. He was taken to hospital in a stable condition. A 16-year-old was arrested at the property and has been taken to Castle Hill police station. He was charged with take/detain in company with intent to ransom occasioning actual bodily harm, possessing a shortened firearm (not a pistol) without authority and participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity. The teen was refused bail to appear before a children’s court on Friday. NewsWire understands police are doorknocking for CCTV and any information related to the kidnapping. “I’m just going to double check my doors are locked tonight, I think,” one local told NewsWire. The property where police found the 53-year-old “hostage” on Thursday is about 25km from where Mr Baghsarian, 85, was believed to have been kept. It’s alleged he was snatched from his home and murdered in a botched kidnapping. Police were quick to say they believed the 85-year-old was not the intended target of the alleged kidnapping, issuing several pleas for Mr Baghsarian’s freedom. There is no suggestion that the two incidents are linked.
