A man who allegedly filmed women using a disabled toilet at a Perth university has faced court for the first time.

Police allege between August 2023 and February this year Didier Loic Labonne, 28, used a stolen key to access the service area behind the toilet at Notre Dame University and used a mobile phone to record women using the facility.

Mr Labonne appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Monday charged with three counts of unlawfully installing a surveillance device, three counts of trespassing and one count of stealing as a servant.
