Perth childcare provider Discovery at Play welcomed the local community and government officials to the grand opening of its Balcatta centre on Saturday.

Operated by Phyllis and Vijay Narula, Discovery at Play is a locally-owned early learning centre and education provider that has proudly cared for Western Australian children and families for the past 21 years.

“As a small private provider, we are passionate about creating nurturing, community-focused environments where children can thrive, learn, and feel a genuine sense of belonging,” the owners said.

Attendees included Leader of the WA Liberal Party Basil Zempilas, Liam Staltari MLA, City of Stirling deputy mayor Karlo Perkov, and chair of Carewest, Ralph Southall.

Dockers star Hayden Young and West Coast premiership hero Dom Sheed were also in attendance.

Though perhaps the most popular guest was larger-than-life Telethon personality, Fat Cat.

The opening of the Balcatta centre marked Discovery at Play’s fifth across Perth and surrounds.

In addition to the city’s northern suburbs, the Narulas oversee operations in Beeliar, Dalyelup, Shoalwater, and Vasse.
