Hunt for man who dragged woman towards bushes on path that connects Halls Head beach to Calypso Road carpark

Detectives are investigating a terrifying incident where a young woman walking from a beach in Halls Head was pulled by her hair and dragged towards bushes by an unknown man.

The shocking ordeal occurred on a path which connects Halls Head beach to the Calypso Road carpark about 7.45pm on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said the victim, aged 23, was walking along the path from the beach towards her car before an “unknown man exited the bushes next to the path”.

“The man followed her for a short distance before grabbing her hair and pulling her off the path towards the bushes,” he said.

“The victim was able to break free and ran to her car, with the man following her.”

Mandurah detectives are on the hunt for a man who is described as having a dark complexion and being aged between 30 and 40-years-old.

The victim described him as wearing a dark t-shirt, black pants and approximately 183cm tall. Her attacker is believed to have a large build and with short dark hair.

Anyone who was in the Halls Head beach and Calypso Road area, and who saw the man or any suspicious activity between 7pm and 8pm, is urged to call police on 1800 333 000.
