West Coast has restored some hope to the fans in 2026, grabbing four wins ahead of their bye.
But since going down to Port Adelaide in round 13 by six points and North Melbourne by one point the following week, the Eagles have been on a five-game skid.
So, with Andrew McQualter’s side having just six weeks left in their season, we look at where they’re most likely to grab another win.
Round 19 v Brisbane (Optus Stadium)
It starts with some bad news for Eagles fans: a return to winning is unlikely this week.
West Coast hosts the reigning premiers in a huge Saturday night clash, and the club will be hoping the fans get around big time.
Despite the depths West Coast have fallen to since the turn of the decade, their most recent battles with the all-conquering Lions have been close.
The last meeting between the two sides came in round two last season, with West Coast going down by 19 points despite holding a lead in the final term.
The meeting before that in 2024 was a 13-point loss for West Coast on their home deck.
This time around, though, the Lions enter the contest on a five-match winning run, and they dominate the stats comparison.
West Coast’s disposal efficiency of 72.6 per cent is on par with the Lions, promising signs for the future.
Round 20 v Fremantle (Optus Stadium)
The Eagles will remain in WA in round 20 for an away derby.
Not even the most optimistic fan will give West Coast much chance of stopping the juggernaut that has been the 2026 Dockers.
However, as was the case earlier this year, the memory of Harley Reid’s first-ever western derby lingers in the back of the blue and gold fans’ minds.
The Eagles ambushed Fremantle in the first derby of 2024 with a nine-goal-to-three first half to come out victors, Reid showing the first signs of the star he is set to become.
However, West Coast’s defence is chronically undermanned this season, and even with Reuben Ginbey and Harry Edwards at their disposal, stopping Josh Treacy, Jye Amiss, and Pat Voss would be a handful.
Without them, it could get ugly. But derbies are funny fixtures; you can never discount the crazy.
Round 21 v Richmond (MCG)
This is the one for the fans to circle!
It’s away from home at the MCG, but Richmond is the only team below them on the ladder West Coast will face before the end of the year.
West Coast were seriously disappointing when the two sides met in round eight at Optus Stadium, off from the start, before falling to an 11-point loss.
The Tigers have won only one game since then, against hapless Essendon, but have been within 40 points in each loss except the 114-point annihilation to Sydney.
The MCG suits the Eagles much better than the graveyard that is Marvel Stadium; the ground’s dimensions very similar to those of Optus Stadium.
West Coast hold a slight statistical advantage across the season to date, while Richmond also has plenty of injuries they’ve been managing all year.
A win here would be a big confidence boost heading into the final games and a result, as well as having five wins on the campaign, they can hang a hat off ahead of 2027.
Round 22 v Collingwood (Optus Stadium)
The club’s penultimate chance to shine in front of their home fans is another one to pencil into your calendars, especially if they can come back having beaten Richmond.
West Coast played in front of 100,000 fans against Collingwood earlier this year for champion Scott Pendlebury’s game record appearance and acquitted themselves brilliantly.
They nearly pulled off the unthinkable, storming home before falling just 10 points short of the ultimate party-pooping victory.
Back at home in round 22, the Eagles will be hoping that a similar effort in front of home fans can get them the win.
However, the Pies will have a lot to play for again, battling to make the top six and avoid the inaugural wild card round.
A win here would be one of the club’s best in recent memory.
Round 23 v Greater Western Sydney (ENGIE Stadium)
West Coast have already beaten the Giants once in Perth but travelling out to western Sydney is a different prospect.
The numbers suggest the Giants will be too strong on their home patch, and with finals on the line, they are likely to be fired up.
But they’ve had a plethora of injury concerns across the year and won’t be at full strength.
In round 10, Harley Reid got off the chain for one of the best games of his young career.
He kicked two massive goals to go with 34 disposals, 10 clearances and eight tackles while Tim Kelly wound back the clock with 24 touches, seven tackles and six clearances.
If the Eagles midfield can gain some ascendancy, they could be a half-chance.
Round 24 v Hawthorn (Optus Stadium)
West Coast will be happy to finish the campaign in front of the home fans, but couldn’t have asked for a much tougher opponent.
On the bright side, it will be a strong indicator of how far the side has come this season.
Bizarrely, it’s the first and only time the Eagles face the Hawks in 2026, with their previous meeting coming in round seven last season at Marvel Stadium, a hefty 50-point loss at Marvel Stadium.
The meeting between the two sides in 2024 ended even worse for the men in blue and gold, Hawthorn running out 61-point victors.
Hawthorn is also on track for the top four and may need a big win to seal a home final, so West Coast will need to play hard right until the final siren of 2026.
