There were 14 AFL-listed West Coast players who turned out for the Eagles in their 27-point defeat to East Fremantle — but among them were Brandon Starcevich and Cooper Duff-Tytler making their WAFL debuts. How did the pair and their teammates fare?
Harry Barnett: One of his better games for the season as he chipped in with two goals. With Matt Flynn and Cooper Duff-Tytler the two main ruck options, Barnett played mainly as a forward and crashed the packs well for four marks, leading the line in the absence of Jack Williams.
Sandy Brock: Grew into the game in defence after finding himself on the periphery of the game early. Was well-positioned on a number of occasions and finished with 13 disposals and five marks down back.
Tyrell Dewar: Played on the wing and was busy early with five first quarter touches as he found open space frequently early. But his influence was curtailed afterwards as he saw less of the ball and finished with 12 disposals, two tackles and two inside 50s.
Cooper Duff-Tytler: Another impressive game from the rookie, who responded well to West Coast’s decision to manage his AFL minutes this week. Was shadowed by Sharks strongman Jono Marsh, but kicked two goals in the third quarter and his work around the ground was impressive as he finished with 20 hit-outs, 15 disposals and five marks.
Matt Flynn: Quiet in the first half but was one of West Coast’s better players after the break. Had nine possessions, nine hit-outs and two marks in the third term alone. Finished with 18 disposals, 32 hit-outs, five marks and a goal.

Luca Grego: Dependable with his distribution out of defence once again as he continues to be a consistent option at half-back. Finished the game with 18 disposals out of the backline without ever really dominating.
Tom Gross: Continues to put his hand up for an AFL spot. After a slow start, he had six disposals and three inside 50s in the second term and was one of West Coast’s best the rest of the game, showing some composure to navigate tight spaces. Ended the day with 20 touches and a team-high seven inside 50s to go with a pair of well-taken goals.
Clay Hall: Played on the wing and struggled to seriously impact the game. Had 14 touches and kicked a goal, but after being shifted off-ball, his lack of impact was notable.

Elijah Hewett: Unstoppable in the first 10 minutes as he found the footy at will, but faded afterwards. Nine of his 18 disposals came in the first-half, and seven of those touches came in the first half of the opening quarter. The Sharks locked him down after that. Only recorded five kicks.
Finlay Macrae: Another good showing as the former Collingwood midfielder shone once again. Led West Coast with 24 possessions and had seven tackles to go with five marks and three inside 50s. It’s between him and Gross for next cab off the rank at AFL level in midfield.
Matt Owies: Not a day the former Carlton forward will look back on fondly. Playing as a deep small forward, Owies saw little of the ball and only garnered six disposals. At least brought forward pressure and recorded three tackles.

Fred Rodriguez: Moved into the middle as an on-baller and the rookie draft pick did not disgrace himself. Had 16 disposals, five tackles and three inside 50s in a solid performance in the guts.
Brandon Starcevich: The prized off-season recruit finally took his bow as an Eagle after knee and calf issues in pre-season. On managed minutes, Starcevich bedded down in defence, threw his body around and finished with 12 disposals, two marks and two tackles. Sizzled one line-breaking kick into Gross out of defence in the second quarter.
Tylah Williams: Worked hard for his nine disposals and got into the faces of East Fremantle with five tackles. The speedster added a couple of inside 50s as well.
