Ariarne Titmus will be looking to grab another gold when she renews her rivalry with US star Katie Ledecky on Wednesday morning — not that the Aussie is getting ahead of herself.

Fresh from their epic 400m freestyle battle in which the Aussie emerged victorious to win gold, the pair on Tuesday won separate 200m freestyle semi-finals to set up another mouth-watering race.

Titmus was restrained for three laps and then powered to win in 1 min. 54.82 seconds.

“I felt a little bit sluggish, which was understandable,” the 20-year-old said.

“It was just about trying to execute a good race.”

Reigning Olympic champion Ledecky, widely considered one of the greatest female swimmers ever, then clocked 1:55.34 to become the third fastest qualifier.

But the Australian warned against writing off the rest of a field, including compatriot Madi Wilson.

“I enjoy racing Katie, it’s exciting for everyone and myself,” Titmus said. “But the 200 tomorrow is not just Katie and I. It’s a very strong field ... it’s anyone’s race.”

That may be so, but all eyes will be on Ledecky and Titmus come race time at 9.41am.

After her gold medal victory on Monday Titmus revealed her swimming teammates had made sure she had a moment to celebrate with a touching gesture in the athletes’ village.

MORE OLYMPICS:

“The girls in my room were so cute,” Titmus said after her epic win.

“Today we got our sheets changed, so they made my bed and left signs all over it with ‘Olympic champion’, which was really nice.

“I got back and tried to have a bit of a lie down for about 40 minutes, but didn’t really fall asleep.

“I then just tried to stay relaxed, eat some food, have a coffee and come back.”
