Hurkacz into Metz final with Carreno Busta
Top seed Hubert Hurkacz has seen off the challenge of former champion Peter Gojowczyk to book his place in the final of the Moselle Open in Metz, where he will meet veteran Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta.
World No.13 Hurkacz, who had ended the run of Andy Murray the previous day, produced another composed display on Saturday to progress 6-4 7-6 (7-4) against Gojowczyk, winner of the tournament in 2017.
Second seed Carreno Busta, meanwhile, battled past Frenchman Gael Monfils 7-5 7-6 (10-8) in front of a lively crowd.
The Spaniard, ranked 16 in the ATP standings, had fought back from 1-4 down in the first set and then saved four set points in the second set tiebreak to eventually progress after one hour and 49 minutes on Court Central.
