Big guns Tom Trbojevic and Daly Cherry-Evans have returned from a post-Origin rest to guide Manly to a big NRL win over an undermanned Wests Tigers.

Cherry-Evans scored a double in a dominant display while Trbojevic also got on the scoreboard as the Sea Eagles cruised to a 44-24 win over the injury-hit Tigers at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.

Centre Morgan Harper scored a hat-trick for the red-hot Sea Eagles who have now continued their ascent up the table having been bottom of the ladder in Round 5.

As well as his two tries, Cherry-Evans finished with two try assists and ran for 184 metres from 13 carries.

Trbojevic posted a game-high 305 running metres including two line breaks and nine tackle busts.

The 44 points scored matches Manly's average per game since Round 14 but Sea Eagles coach Des Hasler admitted his team was far from flawless.

"I thought Cherry was outstanding tonight. He was really involved. He got us going," Hasler said.

"Harper outside him scored a hat-trick. Tommy was always dangerous, certainly put us in good field position.

"Probably a little bit poor defensively, but they are areas that we can identify (and) readily fix. Probably in possession we were a little bit clunky with errors."

A sour note for the Sea Eagles however was interchange forward Josh Aloiai being placed on report in the first half after a cynical cannonball tackle on Alex Seyfarth in the 31st minute.

Seyfarth had to leave the field due to the challenge with a knee injury, leaving the Tigers down to just two on their interchange bench after Luke Garner (ankle) was an earlier casualty.

Tigers' coach Michael Maguire said both players were looking at a lengthy stint on the sidelines.

"He's (Garner) in a brace at the moment so I'll have to check on him but we don't think we'll see him in a week's time ... same with Alex, he'll be out for a while," Maguire said.

While the Tigers coach wouldn't be drawn on the challenge that injured Seyfarth, he did admit it was frustrating to lose a player to an injury from an illegal challenge but not be able to activate his side's 18th man.

"I want to review the tackle first before I make any judgement on that but obviously you lose a player in that circumstance and you've got the 18th man there," Maguire said.

"We tend to use the 18th man around the concussion rule and those sorts of things but I guess in this case we'll have to have a look at it."

Despite being down two players for the entire second-half, the Tigers fought hard throughout with Ken Maumalo scoring a double while five-eighth Adam Doueihi and hooker Jacob Liddle were also impressive.

The Tigers, whose finals hopes are hanging by a thread after this loss, take on the Warriors next Friday in Brisbane while the Sea Eagles are playing Cronulla next weekend in Redcliffe.
