Karratha Detectives are seeking information after two men assaulted a taxi driver on Thursday morning.

At about 2am two men approached a taxi parked in the forecourt of a service station on Balmoral Drive.

One of the men hit the driver of the taxi with a rock, while he demanded money.

The second man entered the taxi and further assaulted the victim. A knife was also produced by one of the men during the incident.

It is believed nothing was stolen during the incident.

The two men fled the scene and were last seen entering an alley-way near Balmoral Road, Karratha.

Detectives believe there were several people in the area that may have witnessed the incident or observed the two men involved.
