He’s eyeing an eighth season in the NBA, but don’t think for a second that James Ennis has forgotten about his Perth Wildcats roots.

The high flier provided an epic flex at practice as he chases his next opportunity in the US, training with a T-shirt showing a picture of him in his NBL days rising for a dunk attempt over Adelaide’s Daniel Johnson.

Ennis, who posted the series of photos to Instagram, was at the centre of a famous rivalry with the 36ers that culminated in Perth’s title win during his sole season Down Under in 2013-14.

The Wildcats edged out Adelaide 2-1 in the grand final series that campaign, just weeks after the two clubs were involved in a post-game scuffle at Perth Arena that involved coaches as well as players.

Several Wildcats die-hard fans took to the Instagram comments to laud Ennis’ shirt choice, with Perth championship teammate simply leaving a ‘goat’ emoji.

After NBA stints with Miami, Memphis, New Orleans, Detroit, Houston and Philadelphia, Ennis spent the past two seasons with Orlando, where he averaged eight points per game in a starting role last season.

The 31-year-old is reportedly in the sights of LeBron James’ Los Angeles Lakers ahead of the October 19 season start.
