VideoBBL: Jason Roy and Liam Livingstone have belted a number of huge sixes to give the Perth Scorchers a massive win over the Hobart Hurricanes.

English opener Liam Livingstone is adamant the Perth Scorchers can translate their undefeated home form to their remaining five matches, which will all be played on the road.

Perth’s current five-game winning streak has largely been built off the back of four matches at Optus Stadium in front of a total of 97,000 fans.

But Livingstone has played down the influence of their home conditions, remaining confident the team can emulate the same blistering form in Canberra tomorrow night.

“The stadium is obviously nice to play in front of the home crowd but I don’t think it’s a massive advantage playing at home,” he said.

“T20 cricket is all about who plays the best cricket on the day and I think we did that on four occasions which was really nice.

“Winning becomes a very good habit in T20 cricket and momentum is massive so as long as we ride with it as long as we can, we can keep going.”

After a lean start to the tournament, Livingstone compiled his maiden fifty of BBL10 against the Hurricanes on Tuesday, as he and compatriot Jason Roy (74no) produced a 123-run opening partnership.

The 27-year-old said the challenge was now to back it up against the ladder-leading Sixers.

“It was really nice, me and Jase spoke that there was going to be some team along the line who would be on the end of us firing at some point, it just took a bit longer than we would’ve liked,” he said.

“It was nice to get a few runs together and form that partnership. Hopefully going through the tournament now we can have a few more.”

After losing allrounder Mitch Marsh to a side strain this week, the Scorchers hope to be bolstered by the return of their tournament’s leading run-scorer Colin Munro.

“Colin’s been great, he’s obviously been doing his rehab stuff, he’s back training with us now so fingers crossed Colin’s back (tomorrow),” Livingstone said.

“He’s been a massive part of our team, he’s been unbelievable in our middle order and he was great in Perth.

“I’m sure when Colin comes back in he’ll be great to bring back into our team and it makes our batting look even stronger when Colin’s back.”

The New Zealand batsman registered three consecutive 50s in Perth before sustaining a low-grade quad strain against the Sydney Thunder on Saturday.

Munro’s short-term replacement, Cameron Bancroft, will likely make way should he prove his fitness for tomorrow’s clash.
