An extended 22-man Boomers squad has been announced in preparation for this year’s Paris Olympics.

Ten players from Australia’s Tokyo 2020 bronze medal-winning side feature, including Patty Mills, Joe Ingles, Josh Green, Matisse Thybulle, Dante Exum and Jock Landale.

There are 10 NBA-based stars in total at Brian Goorjian’s disposal, which also includes Josh Giddey and Dyson Daniels, and the squad will be trimmed to just 12 prior to a pre-Games training camp in July.

The most notable omission is the Brooklyn Nets’ Ben Simmons, who will have to wait for his Olympics debut due to another back injury suffered earlier this year.

The Boomers are coming off a disappointing 10th-placed finish at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, but secured automatic qualification for Paris as the highest-finishing team from Oceania.
