West Coast Eagles superstar Nic Naitanui and GWS captain Stephen Coniglio will be at the centre of a never-before-seen insight into the AFL world as part of a seven-part docu-series to be released on Amazon Prime Video in March.

Making Their Mark is a series which follows Naitanui, Coniglio, Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew, Carlton forward Eddie Betts, Adelaide captain Rory Sloane and Richmond leaders Brendon Gale, Peggy O’Neale and coach Damien Hardwick over the course of what was an incredible 2020 AFL season.

To be released on March 12, the docu-series is similar to that of The Test: A New Era for Australia’s Team, which followed the redemption story of the Australian cricket team over 12 months following the Cape Town sandpaper scandal which saw the suspensions of Steve Smith, David Warner and Cam Bancroft.

The series will be an incredible promotion for the game, with it to be seen in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.

In the trailer for the series, Naitanui can be seen reacting to a tweet sent by Adelaide ruckman Reilly O’Brien which noted the dual All-Australian was “lazy and unfit” prior to their round six clash at the Gabba.

The incident made headlines around Australia and ended with Naitanui giving O’Brien a new phone after the game following the Crows big man’s claims the tweet was accidentally sent because of a broken phone.

“Is football what defines me?” Naitanui says in a voice-over during the official trailer for the series.

Naitanui is seen spending time with childhood friend and Fremantle forward Michael Walters in the trailer.

Eagles coach Adam Simpson is set to feature heavily, with the trailer also featuring his voice-over saying “it’s going to be tough, but it could be the best weeks of your life”, which is likely to be in relation to the club heading to Queensland where they spent significant time in 2020.

The series will follow Coniglio, who had a mixed first season as captain of the Giants, with his form wavering and ended up seeing him dropped from the team.
