State Government recommits three more years of funding to the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest

The crabs are cooking, the drinks are cold, the crowds are gathering and the State government has recommitted to the Channel 7 Mandurah Crab Fest.
The iconic Crab Fest celebrates its 25th anniversary on Saturday, and the government, through Tourism Western Australia, have locked it in for three more years with a funding agreement until 2028.
More than 100,000 people descend on Mandurah for the event, delivering strong economic benefits to the Peel region, supporting local businesses, accommodation providers, and hospitality venues.

DJ Havana Brown will headline this year’s Crab Fest, hitting the Seaside music stage at 8pm on Saturday.
But in the lead-up, there’ll be children’s entertainment, gourmet food stalls with crab prepared in every way known to man, and cooking demonstrations, including from chefs Diana Chan and Brendan Pang.
A highlight on the cooking stage will be Home and Away stars Ada Nicodemou and James Stewart who recently celebrated their real-life engagement.
The event is supported by Tourism WA’s Regional Events Program, which is funded by royalties for regions with the aim to bring more people down to Mandurah to enjoy its food and hospitality.
Tourism Minister Reece Whitby said it was fantastic to confirm the government’s support for the much loved event.
“Mandurah Crab Fest is a major drawcard for visitors to the Peel region, delivering strong economic returns for local businesses and local jobs while showcasing Western Australia’s incredible seafood, events, and coastal experiences,” he said.
“Locking in this festival for future years is all part of the Cook Government’s strategy to diversify the State economy and support the tourism sector, plus it gives organisers and industry the confidence to continue growing the event and enhancing the experience for locals and visitors alike.”
