Updated: Perth has bathed in delightful spring weather, reaching its warmest day in three months.

The Bureau of Meteorology last week offered city-dwellers cooped up over winter an enticing look at what was to come, predicting the mercury would rise to 27C today, before that was later updated to 28C.

Come game day the weather gods have delivered, with Perth reaching 25.9C at 1.20pm.

According to authorities, the maximum of 28C was expected by 3pm. But by 3.14pm, Perth had only reached a top of 26.9C.

It still meant Perth had experienced its warmest day since June 4 when we reached 25.5C. The top last month was 25.4C on August 27.

Perth Airport was close behind at 26.7C, reached at 3.12pm, while Mandurah also reached (26.7C at 12.56pm). Jandakot (26.8C at 3.05pm) was even warmer.

The sunny weather should continue right through the working week — even with some cloud cover expected on Wednesday — with temps hovering between 22C and 25C.

Spring — between September and November — is a season of transition which mixes some of the cold fronts experienced in winter with the warmer weather associated with summers.

And we should experience that variation at the back-end of this week, with showers forecast for the weekend.

Between one and three millimetres are expected on Saturday and up to two millimetres on Sunday.
