WBBL: Megan Schutt rejoins Adelaide Strikers for trip to Perth
Aussie international Megan Schutt has rejoined the Adelaide Strikers ahead of their two WBBL games in Perth.
Schutt missed both Australia’s recent series against India and the Strikers’ first three games of WBBL|07 so she could be with wife Jess and their newborn baby, Rylee.

The champion quick had appeared in every WBBL game in Strikers history prior to taking personal leave.
Schutt is available for selection for the Strikers’ first match outside of Tasmania this tournament against the Perth Scorchers at Lilac Hill this Saturday.
“I can’t wait to get back out in the blue,” Schutt said.
“I’ve been watching so much cricket lately, and I’m thrilled I can finally rejoin such a great group of people.”
Strikers skipper Tahlia McGrath said she looked forward to having Schutt back in camp.
“She is going to be an awesome inclusion. We’ll welcome her back with open arms, and hopefully we’ll see her on the park on Saturday. She’s the ultimate professional,” McGrath said.
“She was telling me this morning about all the PBs she’s been getting in the gym, so she’s ready to go. We know what we are going to get from ‘Shooter’. She’s one of the best in the world for a reason.”
The absence of Schutt and fellow veteran Jess Jonassen from the series against India paved the way for young stars Darcie Brown, Stella Campbell and Annabel Sutherland to add to their international appearances.
Schutt’s reinclusion will make the Strikers’ bowling attack one of the most fearsome in the WBBL.
Brown and Sarah Coyte have begun the tournament in fine form, while Amanda-Jade Wellington will be looking to use the WBBL as an opportunity to impress Aussie selectors given a knee injury could force spinner Georgia Wareham out of the frame for next year’s Ashes and World Cup and open a spot for a spinner in the 11.
After their two games in Perth, the Strikers return home to Adelaide for three games at Karen Rolton Oval.
The side will look to Schutt to lead the bowlers on what has proven to be a very batter-friendly wicket so far this summer.
