Hundreds of homes are still without power across Perth, following mass blackouts as the city sweltered on Wednesday.

Nearly 300 Inglewood, Westminster and Mount Lawley homes were still waiting for power to be restored as of 4.45pm on Thursday.

They are estimated to have their homes reconnected to the electricity network by 6pm.

At the peak of Wednesday’s blackouts, more than 18,000 homes and businesses lost electricity.

The entire Mindarie Marina also lost power, meaning The Boat and Indian Ocean Brewing Co were forced to cancel their dinner services.

Western Power crews earlier on Thursday were working on restoring power to 12,000 homes and businesses.
