Man charged with attempted murder after Beaconsfield throat stabbing

A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing in Perth’s southern suburbs on Friday night left a man in a serious condition in hospital.

Police said the 39-year-old victim was stabbed in the throat at a house in Beaconsfield about 9pm.

Last night Gang Crime Squad detectives, with the assistance of the Tactical Response Group, executed a search warrant at a house in Perth’s northern suburbs and later arrested 23-year-old Jarrad William Nash in bushland.

Police have charged the man with attempt unlawfully to kill.

He has been refused bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

The man has also been charged with several offences not related to the incident in Beaconsfield, and will appear in the same court on those charges today.

Those charges relate to an incident in Spearwood on January 16, and are breach of a police order, burglary and commit, criminal damage or destruction of property.

This morning Royal Perth Hospital said the stabbing victim’s condition is now stable.
