The boxing world is barely giving Conor McGregor a chance against Floyd Mayweather but there are plenty of Perth publicans in the Irishman’s corner.

Thousands of fans will pack Perth’s bars tomorrow for the clash between the brash mixed martial arts star and Mayweather, arguably the best boxer of his generation.

The deck is stacked against McGregor, who is making his professional boxing debut, but he enjoys massive support from MMA fans.

VideoThe Sunday morning, Perth venues will open early and put on specials and VIP events for the hugely anticipated clash between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor. Here's just a few to consider.

The last thing general manager Sean Cassin wants to see is Mayweather celebrating an early win — and not just because he’s an Irish expat.

Mayweather is the heavy favourite but a result could take the wind out of the sails of the Irish who will turn out in force across Perth.

"I think the belief is growing and I think to a lot of fans are already convinced McGregor's going to win.

"The bookie’s mean to nothing to them."

An Sibin Irish Pub in Northbridge, Paddy Malone’s in Joondalup and Durty Nelly’s in the city are all putting on a pre-fight breakfast.

Durty Nelly's duty manager Rory Whelan said it would be "absolute bedlam" if McGregor pulled off the upset.

The Irish Club of WA is preparing for 400 people in Subiaco.

President Tom Quinn has organised extra security but he is confident he will not need it.

The most comfortable tickets in town might be to the live Gold Class screenings at Event Cinemas.

A WA Police spokeswoman said officers worked closely with bars in Perth and Northbridge during special events.

"Licensed premises across the state, as per normal business, are required to abide by their licensing conditions including the responsible service of alcohol," the spokeswoman said.

"Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and police will work collaboratively with the establishments to ensure the safety of our community is not jeopardised."
