VideoA heritage-listed home on Allen Street in East Fremantle was destroyed by fire, with flames spreading to cause minor damage to a neighbouring property.

Drone footage has captured the devastating aftermath of a raging fire that destroyed a federation-style home in East Fremantle.

Firefighters were called to the single-storey property on Allen Street just after 4pm following reports the home had caught alight.

Neighbours told 7NEWS the home had been uninhabited for several years but had recently been sold.

Footage taken by the 7NEWS drone of the burning home show a large plume of smoke billowing from the property.

The property is heritage listed according to the State Government’s Heritage Council, who describe the property as holding historical and aesthetic significance.

It took about 45 minutes for firefighters to control the blaze, it is reported. The flames reportedly spread to a nearby property, causing minor damage.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
