Daniel Jaris Bell: Police charge 28-year-old with attempted murder after car slams into Parmelia home

A 28-year-old man has faced court charged with attempted murder after allegedly ploughing a car through a Parmelia home in the early hours of Sunday. Police had launched a search for Daniel Jaris Bell after he allegedly fled the chaotic scene. The 28-year-old was arrested on Thursday night at a home in Cooloongup and has been charged with attempted to unlawfully kill, stealing, no authority to drive and assault occasioning harm. Police were called to the scene on Gould Place just before 2am on Sunday after they received reports a white Toyota Hilux ute had struck a house and that the vehicle was on fire. Police, St John WA and Department of Fire and Emergency Services personnel attended, and a 19-year-old woman inside the home was taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment by ambulance. Shortly after the incident, police claimed the driver of the Hilux was known to the residents inside the home. Mr Bell faced Rockingham Magistrates Court on Friday, where he was remanded in custody. He will next appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court on September 18.
