A body has been found by police searching for a man feared to have fallen overboard from a house boat south of Perth.

Police had issued an urgent appeal for 50-year-old Dean Chevron.

Mr Chevron was last seen earlier today, on a house boat travelling from Pelicans Café to the Old Mandurah Bridge.

Police believe he may have gone overboard but had hoped he may have managed to swim to the shore.

However, police confirmed this afternoon that Mr Chevron had been found deceased.
