The Kununurra Scout Group showed kids are willing to put in hard work to earn privileges after holding a fundraiser the whole community could enjoy.

Ten boys and girls with their leaders ran a sausage sizzle and car wash at Kununurra Home Hardware on Saturday morning, raising a grand total of $744.40.

The children put in elbow grease washing big and small cars, manning the barbecues and selling other treats and trinkets over four hours to raise money for their family camp at Lake Argyle.

“After COVID-19 we think it’s important to show our support for locals and this term the whole group, Joeys, Cubs and Scouts are working towards their community badge.”

Scout groups across WA aim to help young people be their best through learning life skills, growing in self-confidence and gaining leadership and team skills in safe adventurous environments.
