The stars are entering the building, the cameras are at the ready and volunteers are making their way to the phone rooms to take your calls for this year’s new-look Telethon.

The anticipation is building, with just hours until the event, the likes we’ve never seen before, is unveiled.

Instead of a rolling 26-hour event, this year will have two prime-time, action-packed shows for WA to watch tonight and tomorrow, as well as the Telethon Family Festival on Sunday.

Phone lines for donations will open at 8.30 tonight, when the show starts, and will stay open for the whole weekend.

While we haven’t been able to have celebrities and acts from over east or overseas, WA’s biggest stars have jumped at the chance to help raise money. Expect to see sport stars such as Bryce Cotton from the Perth Wildcats, performances from the cast of “We Will Rock You”, and of course, Fat Cat.

The researchers helping to find a cure for childhood diseases will be able to tell you why your donation is so important.

While of course the glitz and glamour of the event will be on show, everyone from the stars, volunteers, crew and guests are gathering together for a one very important reason — to help WA’s sick kids.

Little Telethon stars Nora Holly and Eamon Doak will be some of the first to open tonight’s event, hosted by Basil Zempilas.

Tune in to Channel 7 right after the AFL Grand Final to catch all the action at Telethon.
