Awards recognise best of the South West in building
The best and brightest building companies in the South West have been recognised in the Master Builders-Bankwest Building Excellence Awards.
Bunbury was set to host the awards night in March but it was postponed due to COVID-19 and instead held as an online ceremony, with many entrants organising smaller celebrations to tune in.
The new forest-themed Warren Health Service Redevelopment in Manjimup took the title of Best Regional Project, with awards judge Charlie Baggetta commending Pindan Constructions on an innovative, high quality and well-organised project.
“It’s great to see local character reflected in infrastructure like hospitals in regional locations, rather than standardised facilities,” Mr Baggetta said.
All the elements have been brought together harmoniously.
A three-story residence in Eagle Bay created by Bluewater Building was named the region’s Best Country Home.
“It’s a house you want to be in,” Mr Baggetta said.
Overall Best Display Home went to Homebuyers Centre South West for a property in Treendale, while Dale Alcock Homes South West was named Project Builder of the Year.
Resonate Homes took out 12 awards and owner Cameron Reid said it was great to get the extended team together on the night.
“It was pretty humbling to win that many awards,” Mr Reid said.
“I’m really proud of all the tradesmen and the team involved.”
Mr Reid said it was a reflection of the hard work the team puts in and good to have everyone recognised.
Perkins Builders won several awards, dominating the Best Apprentice categories with Brody Robinson winning Best Regional Apprentice.
“It’s very rewarding for us knowing we’re doing the right thing for the young guys coming through,” group manager Mark Parrish said.
“We have always put a lot of effort into the training side of things.
“It was nice to be recognised.”
Winners of the South West awards will be considered for the 2021 Statewide awards.
