Karratha Golf Club hosted a Monthly Mug round — the final of the winter season — and a Stableford event last Saturday.

In the Monthly Mug competition, Adam Ross scored 64 strokes to become this month’s champion.

Lester Body and Brian Gill both scored 67 strokes but Body was declared the runner-up, ahead of Gill, on a countback.

The Stableford event was even tighter with the top three players all sitting on 41 point totals at the end of the day’s play. Tyson Bertrend was named the winner on a countback, with Sunan Ong-Arch coming in second and Glen May third.

Other prize winners, in the novelty categories, included Mark Payne (nearest the pin on No.8), Ben Robinson (nearest the pin on No.11), Nathan Woods (nearest the pin on No.16 and long drive on No.3), Danica Thoms (long drive on No.2) and Robert Fedorowicz (best second shot on No.13).

The club welcomed a new member in Hayden Wynne and hosted a visitor from Mt Gambier, Ashley Short.
