Charges of dangerous and drug-affected driving have been laid against a Wickham man who allegedly crashed his vehicle into another car at a Perth intersection, causing two of its occupants life-threatening injuries.

Following a WA Police major crash investigation, it will be alleged that in April the 26-year-old man failed to stop his Ford Falcon sedan at a stop sign at an intersection in Oakford and collided with another car containing four people.

Two passengers in the other car — a 32-year-old woman and three-year-old boy —received life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash, though the driver and another child passenger were uninjured.

The accused has been charged with two counts of dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm and one count of driving under the influence of drugs.

He is due to appear before Karratha Magistrate’s Court on October 31.
