Wickham community raises $7000 for Beau Tann’s cancer fight

A charity sparring night has raised around $7000 as the Wickham community continues to band around Beau Tann and his cancer fight.
About 150 people came out to the December 11 fundraiser which was organised by the Wickham Boxing Club and Karratha Raiders where Mr Tann previously coached.
At the fundraiser, Muay Thai fighters from the mixed martial arts club Primal participated in an exhibition match and a boss-versus-apprentice fight.
Event organiser Shane McDonald thanked the community for their immense support for Mr Tann.
“When we had so many people put their hand up to help, it feels really good,” he said.
“It pretty much shows the community that we’ve got around here and how good Beau is.”
Mr McDonald said they would like to make the sparring night an annual event to fundraise for different causes.
