Vouchers and gifts donated to the Salvation Army from the Karratha Bikers Association

Thousands of dollars worth of vouchers and gifts have been donated to the Salvation Army from the Karratha Bikers Association’s annual toy ride. The ride, held on July 24, saw 43 riders take off from Point Samson Tavern and Wickham OB’s Club to the Dampier Mermaid to pick up toys and vouchers for people in need. The vouchers will be given to families in need over Christmas to help purchase food. KBA president Neil Tollison said the event had support from the wider community. “We can’t help support the community without the support that we get from the local biker community, businesses and members of the public that are so generous with their donations and contributions,” he said. Karratha Salvation Army corps officer major Pam Marshall said the KBA had been a supporter of the Salvation Army for many years. “What the bikers have been able to provide for us will help bridge the gap... to be able to give back to the community,” Ms Marshall said. “That which is given by the community goes back to the community.” The annual toy ride is the last public ride of the year for the Karratha Bikers Association.
