A 52-year-old Karratha man has been charged with trafficking methylamphetamine after police found about $100,000 worth of the drug in a four-wheel drive during a vehicle check. Karratha Detectives stopped a Toyota Prado about 11.20am on January 21 on North West Coastal Highway in Maitland when they discovered the methylamphetamine and $6000 in cash. The 52-year-old has been charged with possessing a trafficable quantity of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply it to another and possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property. A 49-year-old Nollamara man, who was in the four-wheel drive, has been charged with a string of drug charges including possessing a trafficable quantity of methylamphetamine with intent to sell or supply and possession of cannabis. He has also been charged with two counts of possessing drug paraphernalia. Both men are expected to appear in Karratha Magistrate’s Court today.
