Karratha is showing more signs of recovery from the downturn, with Karratha-based builder Timik Developments having its first home under construction in more than two years.

Timik has new projects on the horizon and is progressing towards new builds.

Vacant land sales have increased over the past few months, with Ray White Karratha selling a residential block last Friday.

Ray White Karratha director and licensee Richard Naulls said it showed signs of confidence returning to the market.

“Generally this does help build confidence in the community and the economy,” he said. “It shows what we know from what the 2017 stats are showing, that there is improvement in the market.”

Mr Naulls said an increase in houses being built would have a flow-on effect in the Karratha economy.

“Builders and tradesmen will get work out of it,” he said.
