Teen claims cup round to cap week
Some 56 golfers flocked to the Karratha Golf Club on Saturday to play off in round 10 of the Summer Cup as the competition starts to draw to a close.
The overall winner of the round was 14-year-old Bradley Beier, who scored 22 points.
It capped an excellent weekend for the teenager, who also won the scroungers the previous evening.
In second place was Robert Hinchcliffe, who also won best gross score, while Allan Nolan came in third.
Cindy Newhouse was the winner of the ladies’ longest drive on the 2nd hole, while John Magerl won the men’s long drive and best second shot on the 4th. Nearest the pin on the 5th and 8th went to Rod Lee and Steve McNally.
Mik Whitecross was the longest putt on #9 winner.
