The West Pilbara Softball Organisation welcomed 10 teams to its first social sevens competition at Bulgarra Oval this month.

Competition co-ordinator Chloe Bowden said the game would be played over seven weeks, with a final at the end.

“The best part of the game is that it takes 45 minutes to play four innings,” she said.

The competition encourages men, women and children to play. Teams include Big Swingers, Sodexo Superstars, Dampier Stingers, Subzeros, Stormers, Who Cares, No Glove No love, Spartans, Red Dogs, and the Maybe 10.

The social atmosphere at the first game was great and event organisers are encouraging more people to come down and play.
