Singh’s six helps Baynton Lions win thriller

Round nine of the West Pilbara Cricket Association 40-over competition started with Baynton Lions hosting the Pegs Creek Crabs at the Karratha Leisureplex.

The Crabs won the toss and got off to a flyer with the help of Lachlan Seabrook, who scored a brilliant century in 45 balls and finished with a score of 132.

Lions paceman Shamsher Singh claimed a hat-trick and six wickets in total in his eight-over spell as the Crabs at a score of 200 in 28 overs.

In response, the Lions started their chase steadily and Lokendra Ranawat (25) and Amol Virkar (42) put together an opening stand of 68.

Aziz Saghar (46), Muhammad Khan (28) and Jignesh Patel (190) helped Lions get home with one over to spare.

The second game was played in Dampier.

After winning the toss, Rec Club chose to bat first and finished on 167.

In response, the Dampier Taverners chased the score down with help of Wayne Ritzema, who completed a brilliant 100 and finished the game with a six.

The Karratha Kats forfeited the third game against Wickham.
