UPDATE: The missing man has been located deceased.

His death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.

An extensive search for a missing man in the Pilbara has ended in tragedy tonight as police have located the man’s body deceased.

The search began today at the Hearson Cove area after 26-year-old Matthew Porter failed to attend a work meeting in Karratha.

The air, land and sea operation commenced this morning around 11.30, with the SES also assisting with the search.

A marine rescue boat and helicopter also searched the area.

Mr Porter’s vehicle was located at Hearson Cove on the Burrup earlier today, but he was nowhere to be seen.
