Pilbara Ports Authority throughput dips by 3 per cent for April

Throughput for the Pilbara Ports Authority has dipped by 3 per cent compared with April last year with a monthly total of 59.1 million tonnes.

The Pilbara Port Authority announced on May 11 its April shipping data with its total throughput through its facilities dropping by 3 per cent compared with last April.

The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 46.2Mt, of which 45.8Mt were iron ore exports, which was a one per cent increase compared with April 2021.

Meanwhile, imports through the Port of Port Hedland totalled 178,000 tonnes, a decrease of 4 per cent compared with the same period last year.

The Port of Dampier throughput for April dipped by 9 per cent for a total of 12.7Mt.

Imports through the Dampier facility skyrocketed by 205 per cent compared with last April with a total of 119,000 tonnes.
