A stunning 14-goal haul from Shane McIntosh powered the Dampier Sharks to a 151-point victory over South Hedland Swans to remain unbeaten this North Pilbara Football League season. The Sharks kicked 8.6 to the Swans’ 1.2 in the first term at Windy Ridge Oval on Saturday night as they overwhelmed the reigning premiers. A further seven goals in the second term removed any chance of the Swans claiming a miracle come-from-behind victory, with the Sharks completely dominating all aspects of the game. The second half saw the Sharks waste opportunities in front of goal, kicking 5.7, but the damage was done with the home side extending their lead to a mammoth 101 points at the final break. The Sharks refused to slow down in the final quarter — determined to get a giant percentage boost, they kicked 9.2 to thrash the Swans by 151 points. The final score saw Dampier Sharks defeat South Hedland Swans, 29.17 (191) to 6.4 (40). McIntosh was the top goal kicker for the Sharks with a 14-goal haul, while his teammate Harrison Weeding bagged five. Meanwhile in the reserves game, a spirited Sharks picked apart the visiting Swans by 84 points. The home side led at half-time on the back of a three-goal second term and they never looked back. A dominant second half of play saw the Sharks run away with the victory, defeating South Hedland Swans, 15.15 (105) to 3.3 (21).
