After winning the men’s 40-over competition earlier in the year, Pegs Creek sealed a triple-premiership on the weekend, taking out both the men’s and women’s 20-over crowns.

In the men’s final at the Karratha Leisureplex on Saturday, Creek came up against the Taverners - who won the toss and elected to bowl first.

And just like he has all season, Pegs Creek opener Lachlan Seabrook came out firing — scoring 78 off just 45 balls, including eight fours and five sixes.

His opening partner, Jordan Perkusich, put up a somewhat disappointing total of 14 off 11 balls before he was bowled, giving way to Dean Whiteford, who managed 22. Aaron Faneco added another 33, off 24 balls, to the tally.

Some slow batting from the lower order saw the run-rate dip, but a healthy total of 175 was set for Dampier to chase.

First up for the Taverners were Daniel Harding and Jayden Lagana, who looked a bit shaky to begin with, taking a few dot balls before getting going.

At the end of the second over, the run rate sat at just seven per over, putting pressure on the openers to take a swing and lift the rate.

In the third, Harding managed to post 10 runs off the back of two wides but he was dismissed on the final ball, sitting on 26 off 14 balls.

From there, some valiant batting efforts proved not enough for the Taverners, with Marcus O’Brien’s team-high 36 off 24 balls getting Taverners to 142-7, well short of the 175 target.

Pegs’ Seabrook was named best on ground for his impressive batting efforts.

In the women’s T20 final, Pegs Creek managed to seal a triple crown with a victory over the Karratha Kats.

Playing under the Saturday afternoon heat and the Karratha Leisureplex, Pegs Creek won the toss and elected to bat first.

And while Pegs were the clear favourites, not many spectators could’ve predicted the blowout that was about to unfold.

Jessica Jones and Kassie Patterson opened the batting, smashing home 45 between them before retiring, making way for Jessica Creighton to add 33 more runs.

Some life was breathed back into the Kats side after middle-order Pegs batters Ashleigh Faneco and Amy Rushton fell for golden ducks, with Cynara Brown closing out Pegs Creek’s 128 total.

Despite the small batting collapse at the end of Pegs’ innings, the Kats were unable to capitalise on the momentum.

Not one Kats batter reached 10 runs, and the team was all out for just 24 in 11.2 overs.

Creek’s Jessica Jones took best on ground, with the women’s win sealing a three-premiership season for Pegs Creek.
