Pilbara residents and businesses are set to be better connected to essential services and support programs with the announcement of a new resource hub in Roebourne. The Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation Ltd will establish a new community resource centre set to provide a central, easily accessible point for locals, businesses and visitors to access important information and services. Regional Development Minister Alannah MacTiernan said the State Government was committed to investing in services for communities in regional WA to ensure they are places where people want to live, work and visit. “CRCs play a vital role in connecting communities and building the capacity and skills of local people and businesses across rural, regional and remote areas,” she said. “The appointment of Ngarluma Yindjibarndi Foundation Ltd to establish the new CRC is great news for the Roebourne community which will strongly benefit from having access to a wide range of services not previously available.” Pilbara MLA Kevin Michel said he was looking forward to the centre providing the same standard of community service as the other CRSs in Marble Bar, Nullagine and Tom Price. The centre is expected to be up and running by mid-2022.
