Joel Lekias and Jonathan Wilson proved to be invaluable team assets as they helped the Northern Spirit Warriors to a 41-point win against Trouts on Friday night, bumping them to the top of the ladder. They and Aaron Chambers each contributed six points in the first two quarters to help put the Warriors 24-4 up at half-time. Warriors pounced straight back into the third quarter and remained consistent until the final buzzer, with Lekias and Wilson contributing another six points each in the second half. Despite Austin Crowe St Jack scoring seven points in the last two quarters, Trouts were unable to muster up much as Warriors won 54-13. Warriors now sit top of the Karratha Basketball Association table on equal points with Flames Division 1 Grey and Flames Division 1 Black. In the night’s other game, Coral Trouts were unable to climb to fourth place after the Northern Spirit Suns took the win, 34-23. In Thursday night’s games Mayuga Majik defeated Flames Division 1 Black, 31-29, while Flames Division 1 Grey edged out Pardoo Katz, 39-28, bumping them to eighth. In the women’s division one round 10 clash, Trouts Blue defeated table-topper Flames Division 1 Black, 29-16. Cyclones Development were unable to reduce the gap at the bottom of the ladder after Trouts White took the win, 26-21.
